The program requires attendance at the following core workshops:

Understanding Service System Management

This workshop will help participants understand service system management and what it looks like in their different program areas. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to identify system approaches in the programs and services their organization or department delivers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Applying systems thinking to human services, why it is important, and how it can lead to better outcomes for the end user.

  • Understanding the principles of human services integration and how these impact program planning and delivery.

  • Understanding the roles and responsibilities of service manager in local planning and delivering programs and services impacting service users.

  • Identifying the service system and linkages across the system. Identifying service systems management approaches in different program areas.


Understanding and Managing Change

This workshop will help participants understand change and impacts and responses to it, and their role in directing and managing within an environment of change.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand impact of and responses to change and transformation.

  • Understand own and others’ response to change and reaction to transformation.

  • Understand corporate change culture and their role in managing within it.

  • Develop enhanced communication skills to communicate under transformative pressures.

  • Develop strategies and skills to forge positive relationships and teams to support change initiatives.

  • Develop strategies to respond to negativity re: change.
