County of Dufferin, Ontario Works Program Manager and Social Housing Services Program Manager

Reporting to the Director of Community Services the Program Manager(s) provides leadership and direction consistent with the specific division goals and ensures that staff within the division provide services in a professional, facilitating and cost effective manner.

The County of Dufferin Community Services Department is currently recruiting for two positions:

Ontario Works Program Manager and a Social Housing Services Program Manager

(Permanent Full Time Positions)

The County of Dufferin sits on the fringe of the Greater Toronto Area, about 80 kilometres northwest of downtown Toronto. It combines beautiful rural landscape with small town charm. Reporting to the Director of Community Services the Program Manager provides leadership and direction consistent with the specific division goals and ensures that staff within the division provide services in a professional, facilitating and cost effective manner.

Minimum qualifications are as follows:

  • Graduation from a recognized university in an acceptable related field or from a community college in social services.
  • Three (3) to six (6) years’ experience in the human services field or an acceptable combination of education, skills and experience related to Ontario Works or Social Housing
  • Knowledge of municipal and provincial social service programs and related legislation.
  • Proven leadership abilities that show you can communicate a clear and compelling vision of the future, generate enthusiasm in your plan and develop a team that is capable of delivering excellence.
  • Advance skills and experience related to Ontario Works and/or Social Housing.
  • Strong financial management skills related to budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships across the organization as well as with key partners and stakeholders in order to gather input, build consensus and deliver on priorities.
  • Must be able to lead positively through change and have the ability to "think forward" and develop strategies to improve the way the organization functions based on a comprehensive understanding of changes in legislation and in client requirements and expectations.
  • The capacity to collaborate across multiple groups, willingly share resources to support cross-functional work and build harmony across the organization in order to further the collective goals of the corporation.
  • Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Office.
