Who Can Become A Member?

Membership in OMSSA is open to the staff of Ontario's Consolidated Municipal Service Managers (CMSMs) which includes District Social Service Administration Boards (DSSABs), employees of First Nations Communities and individuals working within the field of social and community services.

Municipal / First Nations Membership
This is an organizational-based membership and it is open to CMSMs and First Nations Communities delivering social and community services in their communities across Ontario. All staff working in social and community services for an organization that has purchased a membership with OMSSA are considered members.

Each organization (CMSM or First Nations) is allocated a number of individual voting memberships on the basis of its population. To broaden their participation in OMSSA, members also have the option to purchase additional voting memberships, equal to the number of voting memberships to which the organization is initially entitled.

Associate Membership
Associate membership is open to individuals working in the field of social and community services on behalf of social services organizations, non-profit agencies or other levels of government. Associate memberships are issued in the name of an individual and do not have voting privileges.
