Early Learning and Child Care

OMSSA's vision for children is that every child in Ontario has a right to high quality childcare and early learning experiences, which provide opportunities for healthy development.

OMSSA believes that greater investment in high quality early learning and child care is essential to the achievement of healthy sustainable communities.
To achieve this, OMSSA:

  • Analyses information, conducts surveys and develops position papers advocating for services for children with a particular focus on the central role played by quality child care.
  • Creates networking opportunities for service managers to support their role as service system managers for child care and children's services.
  • Seeks opportunities to work with other organizations in policy development and to advocate for increased investments in services for children.

OMSSA also provides information and professional development services to enable its members to deliver high quality services and to influence decision makers by being better informed and by developing skills in the planning, management and delivery of children's services.
