ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Commissioner of Community and Health Services, you’ll lead the Housing and Homelessness Services Branch and Housing York Inc. (HYI), our municipal non-profit housing corporation and will be responsible for overseeing York Region’s community housing portfolio. You’ll also oversee and guide implementation of the Region’s 10 Year Housing and Homelessness Plan that is focused on 3 goals: increase the supply of affordable and rental housing; help people find and keep housing; and strengthen the housing and homelessness system. You’ll also guide implementation of the Region’s Homelessness Service System Plan, advancing efforts to end chronic homelessness.
You’ll set strategic direction aligned with Council’s housing and homelessness priorities, HYI’s 2025-2028 Strategic Plan and the Region’s evolving 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan. From supporting resilient, inclusive communities to scaling supply and modernizing operations, you’ll lead partnerships and innovation that strengthen both housing outcomes and system performance.
We’re looking for a seasoned leader with a track record of leading transformative change — someone who is passionate, creative and innovative, with strong knowledge and experience in the housing sector, asset management and capital planning.
This is more than a leadership role – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of housing and homelessness services in one of Canada’s fastest-growing regions and most diverse communities. If you’re ready to make a lasting impact, we want to hear from you.
